The STTRC Annual General Meeting will be held on April 18
We will meet virtually or in person twice within the span of about a month. Following the special general meeting on March 14 regarding the union’s list of demands for the renewal of our collective bargaining agreement, the STTRC Annual General Meeting will be held on April 18.
We cannot stress this enough: the General Assembly is the supreme governing body of the STTRC.
According to our bylaws and regulations, the General Assembly has the following powers and responsibilities, among others:
- adopting and amending the bylaws and regulations;
- adopting the annual financial statements;
- adopting the union dues;
- appointing the person presiding over the General Assembly at the request of the union presidency; this person must not be involved in the matters being addressed by the General Assembly;
- amending or revoking any decision of the union board.
In other words, setting aside a Saturday once a year to attend the STTRC General Assembly is a highly worthwhile endeavor.
You have received a notice of the meeting in the past few days. It includes details on how the general meeting will be conducted, as well as the proposed agenda. We hope to see many of you there.
